But whichever way you look at it, for those who went it was a great
experience and huge fun. It was advertised in the kit car mags and the offer was if you took your car they would pay for your accomodation for the duration of the show.
You don't get offers like that very often, it was too good to miss.
So three cars from the club went
( just to suss it out for next year you understand ).
Roger and Gordon ( Trust Me I'm a Navigator )
Hick in the Sherpley, Mal & Yvonne Hill in their recently
completed Robin Hood and Tony and Nesta Kirk in their Merlin. The route we decided on was Harwich to the Hook of Holland; the
reasoning being that both Dover and Harwich are about the same
distance from deepest Wales but Calais to Rosmalen is around 300 miles and The Hook of Holland to Rosmalen is only about 70 miles. Anyway Roger had been that way before a few weeks earlier on his way to a friends birthday party in Munich and he had a Navigator/ co-pilot.
