He finished a superb second in Monaco, just the team's fifth race, but that proved to be his only points finish of the year.

1998 was a massive disappointment but things picked up the following season. The team took their first and only win at the European Grand Prix, where they finished 1-3, but it was Johnny Herbert, and not
Barrichello, who took the glory.

Nevertheless his career-best haul of 21 points paved the way for his move to Ferrari.
